I love artistic saree photography such as this one. This shot is seductive, kind of eerie, and overall captivating. The setting and the model juxtapose each other and the clusters of light bulbs, well I don’t know what to make of them but I like the over all appeal of the photo.

I love this saree; I love the drape, I love the kanchivaram silk, I love the colors, I love the blouse design, I love the silhouette, I love the jewels, I love the seductive pose, I love the majesty of the pallu almost touching the ground, I love the way it covers everything and yet reveals al, I love the fashion background that gives depth to this image and I love this saree seductress!

In case you were too busy looking at the picture and didn’t read a word I said, yes, I like this saree!

I am pretty sure these are from RaiR collection.

A couple of things that this blog doesn’t fully capture are the print ads and sarees in the movies. Hopefully we will fix that in coming months.

I like the color combination and I think the placement of designs is very pleasing too. It doesn’t cover the whole saree with the stripes but adds them only for the pallu.

This is a knock out saree; delightful kashta inspired drape, beautiful flowing fabric and just the right amount of dazzle paired with a wonderfully glamrous saree blouse design!

I know, I know, I have said it several times “everything is fair in love, war and on the ramp”…

Apparently Mandira Bedi kept the Kolkata Fashion Week audience spellbound as she sashayed down the ramp. She set the ramp on fire with her sizzling looks and saree blouse design to match.

I think the juxtaposition of traditional fabrics with contemporary treatment and trendy blouse designs is kind of interesting.

Gisele Caroline Bündchen is a Brazilian model and occasional film actress. According to Forbes, she is the highest-paid model in the world with an estimated $150 million fortune.

She is the 16th richest woman in entertainment history, has modelled for Dior, Versace and Ebel…and loves the Indian saree. Donning this dazzling sequined green saree by Suneet Varma for the upcoming issue of Vogue India, Bundchen says, “I like the traditional Indian clothes with an edge, and their fabrics and colours are beautiful. They feel very comfortable and natural.”

Not just clothes, the supermodel is keen on everything Indian. “I’ve never been to India, but I’ve always wanted to visit. Its stories and culture are fascinating to me,” she notes.

I really like the saree; it is not over done as very often designers tend to do. The color choice is sophesticated, not trying to emphasize ethnic connotation of the saree.

Butterfly pallu – bow design

I thought butterfly pallus sarees were gone but I have been seeing more and more of recently.

Especially when one of the character in an Indian TV soap opera stopped wearing the butterfly pallu saree, I didn’t think the fashion will stay around much longer.

But I can see why the butterfly pallu design is attractive to many; having a neat placement of pallu is important and this design offers some interesting some possibilities.
