Let me see if I can put this delicately – if you picture Savita Bhabhi, the comic character, and if you picture her with any clothes, chances are she will be wearing a sexy saree…
So here is Divya Diwedi depicting Savita Bhabhi

Does she capture Savita Bhabhi? Not by a long shot… (pun intended).
Why can’t one have a few things remain purely in the imagination – do they have to be depicted on a celluloid?

I am going to check to see if in 2010 Asian Games and in 2010 Olympic games a new sport of “how low can you wear a saree” has been added or not. It sure seems that way. It wasn’t long ago when people were wondering if it is OK to wear saree below the navel and now the question is how low can you wear it.
I have heard of pushing the envelope proverb, but do they have to literally apply it to the saree?
The competition is how low can you wear it. Some time it is sexy, navalecious, I call it, but when it is forced it just looks lewd.

I have no idea as to what the story line of “Main aur Mrs. Khanna (Me and Mrs. Khanna)” was. But in the days of Savita Bhabi, I don’t have to extend my thought much farther to guess..
I do think that Kareena looks very seductive in this butterfly saree. The strapless blouse adds the extra oomph that is needed to elevate the scene.
I decided not to put this in “wordless Wednesday” section, because I was concerned that story this saree might tell would not be suitable for gentle readers of this blog… not!

Love this saree ad – I know it shows a lot more skin than ‘necessary’ and as they say “it appeals to the prurient interest”, but I find it to be sexy in an overt way and it captures the sexiness of the saree when it is draped right. The whole purpose of an ad is to capture the specific qualities of the subject and highlight it in an interesting way and I think this ad does that.

She normally doesn’t wear her sarees so much below the navel, really, she doesn’t. But in this case, it is that darn chabi gucchha (keyring) hanging from the saree that is pulling it down. I swear!
Seductive looking model with beautiful abs in Saree, I like her … her abs adds a lot of seductiveness to this photo, (big sigh) ….
Ok, how many of you thought that I was talking about accentuating the booties, the small repeated embroidery, on the saree? Any body?!!
Just because it is Friday, I shouldn’t dip so low… but while I have my gaze fixated in the southernly direction of Ms. Shalini Sahuta’s figure, lets me admire the shapely and sexy silhouette this saree creates.
You might not want to wear it this way, but isn’t it good to know that you can, if you want to.
I find this a little more evocative than the saree “below the navel” preference that Indian culture has.
I never thought about it, but I wonder if you can show a whale-tail when you are wearing a saree. Technically it shouldn’t be possible, but in some neo sarees … may be…
