Mandira Bedi in a perfect teal saree combo

mandira_bedi_teal_saree

This is a great saree and a wonderful ensamble. I can nitpick by saying that the writst watch is a little out of place and a little too big for the delicate outfit, but that shouldn’t take away from the beauty of the saree. The cut on the blouse is revealing but not to the point of crossing the line of being decent.

Urmila Matondkar in a far out, feather and rhinestone embellished sari

Now this is an interesting sari for sure!!! Check out Urmila’s highly avant garde sari with the feathers – and I don’t mean just as part of the embroidery, but the sari actually has real feathers all over the sari – just look at the full length image below! And the blouse is equally fascinating. It is studded with rhinestones and has a sassy bunch of feathers on the right atop a massive silver brooch! Wearing something like this takes guts for sure and Urmila is certainly up to the challenge!

OK, not a classic black, but contrasting pallu and rich design

classic_bleak_saree

Classic looking crepe saree is beautifully designed in most popular black color with attached contrast border. Fascinating printed pallu is radiating elegance. Embellish yourself with this appealing outfit.

From Sareemax, about $60.

Printed Silk Saree

New techniques of weaving and printing on silk now allows for more intricate and complex patterns then ever before.

Hope the designers use this new found freedom wisely.

This one is a great saree, great colors and intricate design that stays true to the ethnic origin of the saree style. Also notice the matching design on the blouse piece.

Maheka Mirpuri’s stunning saree + blouse combo showcased by Deepika Padukone

Is that really Deepika? I guess it could be.

Anyway, I do like the saree, it is a great saree and blouse combo.

anuska in a sexy blue saree

Interesting sprinkling of burgundy color on a blouse saree and the spaghetti strap blouse goes well too.

Anu Kama’s Saree 2008 collection

Let’s see now, where should I begin?

I am not going to comment about the overall look, but there are two interesting design elements here.

(i) matching of the polka dots on the saree with the bindi of the same size and color.

Bindi has been matched to the saree for a long time but this is and interesting twist, or should I say, it is an interesting circle.

(ii) The blouse is notable, because it is so out of ordinary.

Now close your eyes, and evoke your sense of colors and color the saree and the blouse with the colors of your choice – how does it look?

The tertiary color of the border is not coming out right and doesn’t provide a bridge to the blouse here, but otherwise, this has a great potential.
