Kareena Kapoor wore a fiery sheer red saree to the premier of 3 Idiots, her latest Bollywood hit which also stars Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, and R. Madhavan. It takes a lot for a flick to satisfy my tastes and this one was spot on. Though Kareena is not one of my favorites, Aamir Khan sure is. Plus, Sharman Joshi and R. Madhavan pair up well with Aamir Khan as a comic trio. The film’s plot, though comedic, has a great message that will hopefully hit home in India and to viewers across the globe: don’t give up on your dreams just for the sake of pleasing others.

Kareena looks hot and Aamir is quite dashing.

I see a pattern. Did these guys all color-coordinate their outfits?

Ok more than a hint of green and a LOT more than a sprinkle of gold, but this transparent net saree has some gorgeous embroidery!
The asymmetric, off the shoulder blouse doesn’t conflict with the traditional embroidery on the saree and over all the saree looks kind of hip, me thinks.
A classic Satya Paul design and super presentation.

I liked some of the sarees from the Nalli Next Collection – subtle attractive color combinations.
There were a couple of sarees that were kind of bold but the combination looked really odd.

Gorgeous handloom sarees – shown at Patna Handloom fashion show.
Love the white saree with a thin gold border – classic

I have posted Neha Dalvi’s saree picture before (in a yellow saree from Seasons India)
She is a strong and confident contestant for Miss India 2010 and Miss World 2010. I am also looking forward to seeing her in some upcoming movies.
She was asked “what a woman can give a best gift to a man” neha gave the reply,”there are many things which a woman can give to a man but the only one thing that a woman can give ever is a birth to a child by all her compassion and patience”.

Sakhi by Chandras features a number of funky, unique saree designs. The patterns, colors, and blouse designs on these sarees are bold and set their own trends. Here is what the site has to say:
“Sakhi celebrates the new-age woman and is committed to unveil her real beauty and progressive personality. Sakhi combines traditional fabrics and craftsmanship with contemporary themes to create an ensemble that embodies the values of the modern Indian woman.”

This Kanchivaram silk number sells for $422 approximately. The kalamkari motifs give the saree an antiquated look but the blouse is strikingly modern. Actually, I’m not sure what to make of this single sleeve style blouse though my gut is telling me that it pulls the wardrobe together and livens up this otherwise classic looking saree.

This crepe silk Sakhi saree costs $75 approximately. The zig-zag design throughout gives it a playful and fresh feel while the black hand block printed section tones down the busy print just enough.
