I know they are not sarees, but I am not purist about the definition of the saree, and when Satya Paul talks, we listen.
I like this one the most. As I have said, bridal couture is somewhat constraining, you got to throw in or keep certain colors and he does a great job here. The embroidery is exquisite and is not so overpowering that the real beauty of the bride is lost.

Now about this one; my mother told me that if I can’t say anything good about something, I should keep quite. Too bad I never listened to my mother.
I like the embossed self design and the blouse is interesting too, but do you really want the groom to start doubting on the marriage day whether he made the right decision or not?

In the set of photo shoot that I saw, thankfully there was one saree, I’ll post it in a day or so!
The best picture was Puneet Nanda surrounded by various creation!

Sayali Bhagat walks the ramp at the Bangalore Fashion Week, in Bangalore.
From their website:
Bangalore the Fashion Capital of India keeps pace with the latest trends and fashion. In fact it is believed that fashion for the entire country takes its birth in Bangalore. It is the youth of Bangalore who change to the latest trends in Fashion in tune with International Fashion.
With This backdrop Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week was conceptualized as a project set to position the Fashion Capital of India as ‘The Ultimate Destination’ for Fashion in India.
Fashion in Bangalore has created great designers like Manoviraj Khosla, Sanchita Ajjampur, and others who have lent a national and now global niche to the Bangalore Fashion Philosophy. This Event is set to salute the doyens, encourage the Gen Next and move ahead to create an international property which talks of fashion as an industry, as creative canvas and as a serious business.
Come Join us in this endeavor of ours In Making ‘Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week’ a Success…
I guess I did not get a memo saying that Banglore has become the Fashion Capital of India…
Darn.. do I have to move now?

Bridesmaid and the bridesmaids with non-flattering sarees: I strongly disapprove of it. I know, its your wedding, and you want to look the best, but don’t make your best friends look terrible, just so you can look slightly better in comparison.
I am ok with sangeet nights, and I am happy with a bollywood style dances where the bride gets to be at the center stage, but during the wedding ceremony, how does it help to have your best friends dress up as the wait staff at the hotel? This is not even an Indian tradition – let it go…!

Hate the sarees!

I find bridal designs very constraining. You got to include some red and it has to be festive and then the bride is made to put on way too much makeup and way too much jewelry and way too much of head covering and all the beauty of the bridal designs is completely lost.
Bandhan, a magazine published in UAE, did an asian wedding issue and asked three of the top designers, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Manish Malhotra and Tarun Tahilani to design a bridal outfit for Deepika Padukone and here are the results.
Leave a comment as to which ones you like better.
This one is Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

This one is Manish Malhotra

And this one is from Traun Tahilani.

I like the colors and exquisite embroidery. This was Manish Malhotra’s better piece for sure.
