Articulating Thoughts with Paint and Saree

So I saw this headline ” THIS ARTIST SPRAY PAINTS WOMEN IN SAREES AND TURNS THEM INTO GODDESSES” – I had to click! right?

And it showed Ruby Subramaniam spray painting women in saree and changing them to Goddesses inspired air-spray paintings; sure! that was the headline, but I liked the original thought that Ruby had about why she was doing this: It is a project called “This Body is Mine”. Ruby explains that her initiative is all about women’s voices, their bodies and the respect they deserve as a feminine aspect of the human species.

And of course, here is an even more familiar face, being even more provocative and articulate 🙂

And this particular project was to support Lena with the tag of #DefendLena, who was arrested for showing a movie about Srilankan atrocities in a country that objected to it.

You can support Lena by spreading awareness and in other tangible ways.  http://komas.org/how-you-can-support-defendlena-campaign/

The last photoshoot did remind of Jasmine’s collab with HateCopy.
