This is not how you play Pat-a-cake, –Nice white saree though!

This is not how you play pat-a-cake pat-a-cake, baker’s man game… Although, I wouldn’t mind trying out this variation…

This picture is visually pleasing.. It doesn’t seem lewd to me like many others in Bollywood movies.

Generally bollywood songs are described as “vertical expressions of horizontal desires” -

This one goes a step farther, It is horizontal expression of horizontal desires with extra 20 yards of fabric..

Here are the new lyrics of the rhyme.. I think the old original one from 1700′s had completely different lyrics and meaning, but this one at least makes sense.

Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker’s man.
Bake me a cake as fast as you can;
Roll it, Pat it and mark it with B,
Put it in the oven for baby and me.
Patty cake, patty cake, baker’s man.
Bake me a cake as fast as you can;
Roll it up, roll it up;
And throw it in a pan!
Patty cake, patty cake, baker’s man.
Patty cake, patty cake, baker’s man.
Bake me a cake as fast as you can;
Roll it up, roll it up;
Put it in a pan;
And toss it in the oven as fast as you can!

Lets keep some things innocent and simple, no reason to make everything have sexual connotation…

Palam Silk Saree show

Image

Let me preface this by saying that I always have a tad of a discomfort when I talk about silk sarees.. something about ethical treatment of other live things… Intellectually I fully understand it and I have no problem with it, but emotionally I do find a tinge of abhorrence when I look at a silk saree.

OK, let me get past that issue.

Actually, I can’t, at least not right away, so let me post a few more pics and then we can start all over again.

Vintage Movie Saree on Amrita Singh

A sword is an arresting and dramatic accessory with an already beautiful saree.  Rather delicate jewellery and stacked bangles complete her defiant look.  This image caught my eye before I knew it was Amrita Singh, ex-wife of Saif….  Some ladies in my bellydance classes do a sword dance, and while they don’t wear silk sarees, I can imagine the dance in a Bollywood film.  Anyone know the name of this particular movie?
