A Porcelain doll in a red wedding lahenga saree : Shaleena weds Guna’s triple wedding

Image

Doesn’t she look like a delicate Porcelain doll? So picture perfect, so beautiful!

Shaleena and Guna were married in three fairy-tale weddings – with HIndu, Ismaili and western traditions!

We at Saree Dreams wish them all the love and happiness in the world and congratulations on their marriage.

Here is an old Apache wedding song:

Now you will feel no rain
For each of you will be shelter to the other.
Now each of you will feel no cold
For each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there is no loneliness for you
For each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two persons
But there is one life before you.
Go now to your dwelling place to enter into the days of your togetherness
And may your days be good and long upon the earth.

I loved the wedding lahenga, it is ornate to mark and commemorate the occasion but very stylistic at the same time.

Celebrating Five years of Saree Dreams – THANK YOU!

Really, has it really been five years? That is 15 years in “dog years” and almost eternity in internet times.

Blogs come and go but this one has stayed updated every day- almost 365 days a year, sometimes several times a day. Total number of days the blog has been on – 1,825, total number of posts, 3,648 – almost exactly two posts a day!

Total number of page views have been phenomenaly large number – in excess of 30M page views – that is just unbeleivable.

Sometimes I look at the old posts and see how special this blog has been. It doesn’t preach, it has beautiful full size pictures and it has views of people who genuinely care about the saree and design and fashion.

I want to thank all the readers and commentators and most of all all the contributors.

Kamini, Rupa, Liza, Mistly, Lyndsey, Indrani, Abhi, Manisha, Ylva, Archna, Clio BIG HUGE Nine Yards of thank you to you all…

And also shout out to some commentators, “The girl”, lakshmi, Jondotkom, Archana, Arun, Trevor, Resource Dragon, Hijab Girl, Thank you for enriching the site.

And lastly our sponsors; Pia Ka Ghar, Sareez, Indian Hair, and many others..

The part that I liked the most about this site is that I have met some wonderful people through it; some beautiful people, people who are very creative and people that I’d love to hang out with,

When you express your feelings and thoughts about things that you care about, you attract your soulmates and thats what matters the most.

I am going to end this with one of my all time favorite saree – the peacock saree from Satya Paul.

Here is for the next five years. It may be a six yard fabric, but the possibilities are endless..
