Too much skin, no flair

I wasn’t sure about posting this. But in spirit of this blog of posting any saree pics that stand out for whatever reason, here it goes.

If you want to garner attention, only chutzpah isn’t enough. Skin show doesn’t have to be gaudy, it can be intelligent and eye-catching in a good way. Sadly that’s not the case here. This is only going to gather unwanted attention.

I don’t know who she is. Strangely enough, to me she looks quite comfortable in this dress. Atleast more comfortable than most aspiring starlets would be. She looks more comfortable wearing this than me looking at her in this dress.

If you want to do something outragous, do it with grace. With a red saree with green pallu and blouse, she looks like a slutty peahen, and that’s not a complement.

Whoever you are and wherever you are, I wanted to like you. To some extent, I do like “you”. But you disappoint me with your choice of clothing.

Joining the ranks of other celebrities and actors, Bollywood actress Rekha on Tuesday took the oath as Rajya Sabha MP.

Accompanied by Congress Member of Parliament (MP) Rajiv Shukla, Rekha entered the Parliament from Gate 4 because a large number of fans were assembled at Gate 12 to take a glimpse of newly nominated MP of the upper house.

Evergreen Rekha (56) is the latest to be part of the star-studded House of Elders.

Jaya Bachchan, another Bollywood actor of yesteryears, is currently in the upper house as a member of Samjawadi Party.

Besides, Bollywood stars including Shatrughan Sinha, Jaya Prada and Hema Malini are already part of the Upper House.

Other film personalities who were nominated to the Rajya Sabha in the past include Vyjayantimala, Nargis Dutt, Lata Mangeshkar and Sivaji Ganesan. In addition, Telgu movie icon Chiranjeevi is a Congress MP in Rajya Sabha. Indian Television’s popular bahu ‘Smriti Irani’ is part of the Upper House as a BJP member.

Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar will enter Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

I love the smiling face of Miera Kumar!

Despite the hectic proceedings on Sunday, both Speaker Meira Kumar and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi were seen in different sets of sarees.

During the debate in the Lok Sabha, Kumar wore an orange-coloured saree, while Sonia was seen in maroon. But when both Houses met for a joint sitting in the central hall, the Speaker was seen in pink, while the UPA chief was in a solemn off-white dress.
