On being swarthy, dusky, chocolaty and being lighted by twilight : Amala Paul

Gorgeous!

What a beautiful woman and then they ruin it all by adjusting the contrast and take all the mystery of woman out by removing the duskiness and the complexity of the skin tones!

SO HATE IT!

Here is Amala Paul – I just posted one of her other saree pictures. Picture below the fold is also a pretty one with her glorious dusky face and then … they took the desi character out of her and removed her endearing quality.

Did anybody see the commercial for “fresh and fair?” – it burns me up.

Broken Morning Open Letter to a Delhi Boy

my cherub-faced daughter tells me, in a heavy Tamil accent, no less “Mama, I am white. You are brown.” To which I just shrug and reply: “Sure, sweetie, like chocolate. And you’re a barfi. Both of us, yummy, yummy.”

  1. WTF!
If this “Yoni Whitening Spray” is a real product, I am perplexed. I’ve seen various skin whitening ads, but this takes the proverbial cake.
Do any of these things even work? Won’t spraying such a potentially caustic substance down there cause, well, discomfort if not harm?
And always feel disappointment with the various stars who have plugged traditional skin whitening products, from Ash to Genelia to (of all people!) John Abraham. Beauty is beauty, dusky or otherwise. As my dad always says, “If dey stay good lookin’, who cares?”
Oh, and many thanks for linking that last post, the Open Letter to the Delhi Boy. Hilarious!

  2. I find seeing blue veins through pale skin to be a major oh-no! Chocolate shades for me forever.
