
Benaras Net :
This saree features a brilliant Red hue with contrast Black detailing the saree features Zari butta detailing on the body. A light easy to handle fabric this season is the Net. Banaras is one of the rich weaving craft centres of India, famous for Brocade saris and fabrics. Exclusive varieties of the saris are Jangla, Tanchoi, Vaskat, Cutwork, Tishu and Butidar which are made of silk warp and silk weft, woven over that is a brocade layer with extra weft patterns in different patterns to create Buties, Creepers, Buttas in ground, border and pallu.
Cut Work
This saree features Banaras appliqué border detailing and finished with abstract Cut Work detailing on the same. Cut work is a fine form of fine needlework that complements and elevates any garment to sheer elegance. In this form of embroidery, portions of the background fabric removed to create interesting designs and motifs. This designer Tussar silk saree features elaborate Cut Work embroidery on the pleats and border detailing. Sakhi celebrates cut work by adding verve to this modest Tussar silk saree by infusing multi hued Tissue appliqué, to make every occasion special.

At first glance I kind of liked it. But then I looked at the fabric work, and all I could think of was laser-cut designs in plactic. I’m missing the personal touch of hand made textiles that look like beautiful Banares silk.
Not quite my cup of tea, but I admire the eclectic and contemporary feel. I do like the texture and cut in the blouse.
