Vidya is reportedly doing an item number for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Ferrari Ki Sawari. From this picture, it seems she is wearing a nauwari saree.
Vidya is one of those actresses who are hard to dislike (Kajol is another one) because she is glamorous and serious at the same time. I do cherish the item numbers, they are one of the very few things that are not copied from anywhere else. Furthermore, I am more intrigued by item numbers done by respected actresses than the talentless and sometimes unbearable item girls (e.g. Rakhi Sawant). Even while watching older movies, it is far more interesting to watch item numbers done by say… Aruna Irani, than some unknown bimbo.

Here’s a classy, “serious” actor of grand intelligence performing in a type of scene many would consider sexist trash, and even at best, silly, mindless entertainment. But you speak wisdom when you state that a solid performer can actually turn an item number into something more.
Vidya is just such an actor. I look forward to seeing her. She’s gonna be wicked cool, I’m certain.
