Love the bangles, earrings and especially the necklace. Despite the fact that the saree is a bit too colourful, she looks great thanks to the fact that she has got the pleats right.

So sweet, and so adorable; impractical, but attractive nonetheless.

Do you think Bindi mash-up is an accident or is it designed and drawn as fire?
Believe me, nothing is an accident in these design shows. I like it, but I see that it is, alas, it is unwieldly.

A jamevar cream saree with scallop embroidered rust tissue borders with cut worked in gold zardosi, red resham and sequins worn with a short ornate tissue choli.
From the sheetal group.
The scallop embroidery is not something that I particularly enjoy handling. Especially when the it is “even”. The design is all about crafting and molding the even-ness in to pleasing look. I am sure, you can tell here that the scalopping at the shoulder doesn’t add grace and completeness to the woman in the picture.
But as I said, Bridal design is different. Sometimes you like it not because it is the best, not because it makes you look the best, but because it is so ornate that it makes the “day” look good.

For IIFA, I thought that Lahenga was appropriate and had the right amount of glitz. Didn’t care for Anushaka’s sabyasachi, I thought it was understated for the occassion.
Here is my fav. pic of the evening.

I love this picture!
I wanted to see more sarees at IIFA; Shilpa could have worn a saree but she decided to wear a black dress instead – traitor!

Priyanka at IIFA – looking gorgeous as ever

Absolutely gorgeous. A nice shimmer, a 3D look and tactile difference – and Priyanka looks nice too
I don’t know for sure, but this sure looks like Malhotra saree to me! It has all the classic elements of his playful vision.

And, here is Anushaka in her Sabyasatchi saree.
By the time that the assembled Bollywood royalty had danced, sang, talked, paid tribute in an endless cycle of career awards and indulged two comics in dozens of low-brow skits, many people had already had more than enough. The throng of 40,000 that took their seats in the Rogers Centre at 7 p.m. had thinned out in a swirl of saris up the aisles.
But there were still thousands left to cheer the popular action film Dabangg when it won as best film. It pushed aside the even more popular My Name is Khan, the highest grossing Indian film of 2010 both in India and internationally. Oscar-winner Cuba Gooding Jr. was part of the best picture presentation team. He proclaimed his love for Bollywood cinema, said he would be happy to star in one and then did a fabulous hip hop version of a Bollywood dance move while the Rogers Centre erupted in cheers.
