Neha Dalvi is in the running to become Miss India 2010 and her beauty is said to match that of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Sunny recently posted a few photos of Neha. Here are a few other gorgeous shots from her recent photo shoot for Seasons Saree.

Stunning lady, no doubt – however she looks way more western than Indian. Actually, the first time I saw her, in a sari fashion photoshoot, I thought she was a remarkably well-picked eastern european model from some agency.
Aish has got light colors for skin, eyes and hair too, but at least she has a distinct, warm Indian/middle-eastern feel to her looks!
I wish Neha the best, but if she became miss India, it’d be a bit like when that black dominican-born beauty became miss Italy… odd indeed.
Maybe one of the signs of globalization?
The intricate work on the saree lehengas is gorgeous and the girl too is definitely easy on the eye. I wonder if they elongated her body with Photoshop or if she is really very tall. Her proportions look rather strange in the first photo.
By the way, how much would those clothes cost? I fervently hope this artistry will not be outsourced to China. Someone recently told me that Chinese workers were brought to Madras to learn the art of making Kanjiveram sarees and I think it is such a shame.
@Amalaya: This girl didn’t win and when has a “white woman” ever won Miss India? Have you ever actually seen any of the recent winners?
@opalflower: Aish has no “Middle Eastern feel” to her looks… have you ever actually seen ME people? This “Neha Dalvi” girl looks ME though. Must be the photoshop.
I agree that she looks extremely white. Aishwarya is light-colored (VERY light-colored) but she has enough of an Indian-looking bone structure to look great in a saree. Although Neha looks good, she looks a little out of place in a saree I think.
Also, does anyone think it says something that more than half of India’s representatives to Miss World and Miss Universe pageants are from Maharashtra, the richest state but only the second largest in population?
Well i think she is the best looking entry(if she does make it) to the Miss World/Uni from India in some years.
Just look at the kind of models that have made it in the past 5 years and almost everyone is left shaking one’s head at the level of beauty and how that level could be “Miss India” level.
she is the modern Indian beauty..not like ash or kind…she is presenting the new India to the world..best of luck to her i know she will be the next miss India and miss world too.
I agree with Opalflower: the first time my mother and I saw her shoot on SeasonsIndia we thought she was white too. My mother even wondered why they choose white women to showcase Indian clothing, while there are so many beautiful Indian women around. She is gorgeous indeed, but I never would have guessed she’s Indian by her looks. I prefer ‘Indian-looking’ Miss India’s, but what do I know…
Very bad look like hanger no expression,I am watching a white wall. No to compair this whore with aish. Unsuitable for modeling. No spark in this girl. Who fool make her model
Some foolish people like her look. Her look was not suitable for indian identity. In traditional saree she would definately look like white british. Every indian model has some facial expression but she has not some of them. Shameful for us to represent to her as participant of India. We have no need to win crown by sending white skin than our true Indian beauty.
