I love Suchitra Krishnamurthy’s voice. I think one of my fav song that she did was a pop album she filmed with Shekhar Kapur. Don’t remember the lyrics but the video showed both of them riding a bicycle in the rain and getting some ice cream. It could be “Jabse Dekha..”, very difficult and complex tune and she delivered it with such honesty and sincerity and clarity; I must have heard that song at least 50 times and enjoyed it every time.
If I recall correctly, Sir Andrew Weber composed special music for her as well. Suchitra is a classically trained vocalist in the Gwalior gharana style of Indian classical music and it shows. I was sad to hear that she got divorced in 2007. They made a great pair.
I like the yellow saree and if I have a complaint here, it about the bindi; the yellow bindi completely washes out and can’t be seen in her picture with Beyonce. Naomi. Brown bindi, matching with the embroidery color in the border of the saree would have been a better choice.
