Saree with belt and high collared blouse
I am not a fan of a belt with a saree; the best thing that saree has is its fluidity and I think the belt constraints it. But aesthetically I don’t think belt looks out of place.
I especially like the blouse thought; the high collar look wonderful and self embroidery work is very detailed and very pleasing.

Wow, there’s something about this piece that throws it into my top ten favorite sarees ever – actually, top five… and it would even suit a hopelessly moonlight-pale brunette like me… (daydreaming)… well, i would skip the belt with this even though i don’t dislike it.

Hmm, from what pieces my older cousins own, they do have saree belts. They’re worn a bit lower and are more like necklaces than a traditional belt with buckle. Some are asymmetrical so the heavier design sits on the left side as it’s exposed when tied up like this. Agreed beauty of the saree is it’s fluidity and I don’t dislike the way it’s worn above. I may even try it. But I think it’d have to be the right saree & right belt. Thanks for sharing!
