Nida Mahmood saree creations always bring a smile to my face.

Nida Mahmood is a fashion designer, painter, columnist, stylist and a graphic artist. Apart from a weekly column in the HT City, she also writes for various other publications including Vogue.com and fashioncurry.com. The label epitomizes her design philosophy ‘art translated’ in more ways than one. It embodies a unique look – that which breaks all boundaries, and that believes in combining disharmonious elements together into a unified whole.

Yes, she does bring disharmonious elements together, no doubt about that.

Bellavista by Ekta and Ruchira

Ekru by Ekta and Ruchira, is a label synonymous with classic designs and understated elegance. The brand philosophy is simple, wearable and refined outfits for the women of today. Ekru presents ‘Bellavista’, which in Spanish means a ‘beautiful sight’. A flamboyantly chic collection embracing rich heritage of cross cultures Europe, India and Mexico, it exudes vivid colourful Mexican folk culture, and the contemporary modern.

I don’t particularly like this one. Not sure what could have been done to make this better. A brown blouse would not work.

Kabir Bedi and Dimple Kapadia for JJ Vallaya

I loved this pairing. Kabir Bedi is one of the most graceful Desi model. They look very regal together.

The Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale left the spectators cheering and in a standing ovation by presenting an inspiring story of transformation from gloom to glory on the ramp with JJ Valaya’s ‘Kingdom of Love’. The signature Valaya tailored jackets, sensual jodhpurs and crisp tops worn with detailed skirts crafted out of the finest of fabrics with stunning prints and ornamentation made for a collection of womens wear and menswear that celebrates optimism and energy.
