Vikram Phadnis – not the best color combo for a saree : full sleeve saree blouse

I showed some really nice sarees from Vikram Phadnis’s collection. Here is one that I strongly disliked.

Note the long sleeve, turtleneck, monotone, unmatched blouse that was also seen in the black and blouse saree earlier.

Fiat added the desired oomph to the launch of its new ‘Fiat Linea’ in the Indian market at the Taj Land’s End hotel at Bandra as the brand roped in Vikram Phadnis Bollywood’s ace fashion designer to unveil his latest collection at the event.

Top models of the glamour world walked the ramp displaying a versatile range created by Vikram. The stunning designs showcased that night were extreme ethnic, casuals and party wears which once again confirmed that Vikram is one of the most genius designers in tinsel town.

Also seen at the event was the renowned choreographer Shamak Davar. The gorgeous Mandira Bedi played the perfect MC as she introduced the fashion ramp and then, finally unveiled Fiat’s latest car model ‘Linea’ in style.

  1. Both the sari and the blouse are beautiful -just not when worn together. The sari is a gorgeous olive color which gives the piece a vintage/old Bollywood feel, and the embellishment is neither overly ostentatious or terribly subdued.

The ‘blouse’, (if you can call it that), appears to be little more than a simple turtle-neck made of some lightweight, see-through jersey material. The blouse is something that could be (and probably was) bought at any number of highstreet stores; it would look great with a pair of jeans, but looks incongruous when paired with that beautiful sari.

PS: Whoever did that model’s hair or chose her accessories should be dragged out into the street and shot.

  2. Even worse, if you look at the model’s Right leg, I suspect she has a full length blue BODYSUIT on underneath. I swear she is wearing tight blue trousers under the sari. THis idea didnt quite come off….its awful.
