Beautifully done. – most saree vendors forget to show off the saree in different colors and how they will look in different drapes. Modern marketing and sales techniques applied to traditional clothing.

<rant> Why do they feel OBLIGATED to put bindis on every model; like the model will stop breathing or her soul will leak out if she is not wearing a bindi or something. Jeeez! Here are four beautiful women in a saree and suddenly they start to look like little caricature of desi women!</end rant>

Trials and tribulations of wearing a saree
Yup, sometimes you do need six to eight hands just to get the saree in place!
I know, tribulations are many, but when it is done right – the triumphs aren’t too shabby either.
Amrita Rao – host of Indian Idol IV
I like watching the first few episodes of Indian Idol – I enjoy watching the contestants and their dreams and desires and anticipation and fears and triumphs. After top 10 are selected – it becomes kind of boring for me.
My fav. contestant this time was Ananya Misra – a girl with real talent and great pedigree. Unfortunately she was eliminated early on.
I hear that Amrita Rao is taking over as the host of the show from Hussein – and here she is in a gorgeous saree.
While I am at it, let me predict that the person who will win this time around is Sourabhee. She is consistently good, she has strong ethnic ties that will bring her on the top during the final contest. Another reason I am rooting for Sourabhee is that she is the only one that has worn saree as a part of her natural wardrobe.
I hope a girl wins this time!
Out of all the women on the show, the one that looks the prettiest and classiest and looks great in a saree is — Sonali Bendre.
