A distinctive saree of the season

When people at Statesman newspaper asked me as to what do I look for in a saree, my clear answer was that I look for “distinctive” sarees and this is a classic example of it.
Is this the prettiest, the most color coordinated, most wearable, most pleasing? And the answer to each of the question is no, no, no no and no.
Yet, the saree is distinctive – muted green saree, with deep red embroidery worn over a corset one shoulder blouse! Did you get all of it?

Second Life saree – virtual saree

Virtual saree in a Virtual world of Second Life.
I have talked about digital sarees before and most of them forget to put proper pleats in the saree! I am not surprised at that – I doubt that any of these artist folks who are at Second Life know how the saree is draped.
I am just glad that they are playing around with models that are saree clad.
Sooner or later we will have a digital avatar, a second life model, a yahoo persona, wearing a perfect saree draped perfectly.
