Ikta Saree – hand woven in Ponchampally village

Very classic saree with translucent colors and great contrast.

But I hate those fold creases so much that I am so darn distracted from the beauty of the saree. Sometimes I think a saree might look better if it is crumpled then it does when it has these creases!

So don’t keep your silk sarees in boxes and don’t let any weight sit on it for an extended time; hang it up nicely and refold it once in a while.

What we really need is a “Saree folding day” which is used to remind people to take some of their precious possession, admire then, gloat over them and refold them.

Varun Bahl Saree – sight to behold

Before you make any comment about the head wear in this picture, please remember that everything is fair in love, war and on the ramp.

At times one needs to be outrageous to be noticed!

Varun’s collection was full of rich hues and striking contrasts. The embroidery was exquisite and gave a great deal of depth to the saree.
