Nandalal Bose was a noted Indian painter.
The paintings of Nandalal Bose are considered among India’s best modern paintings by many critics. Influenced by the Tagore family and the murals of Ajanta, his classic works include paintings of scenes from Indian mythologies, women, and village life. Nandalal became principal of the Kala Bhavan at Santiniketan in 1922.
I saw the exhibition put together by San Diego museum not too long ago and was very impressed with the breadth of his work.
There was one specific painting of Radha that I especially enjoyed. I’ll try to post a picture here, if I can find a copy.
