I know of no saree that doesn’t have some level of ethnic design infused in it; sometimes it shows up in the print, sometimes it shows up in the the blouse design, sometimes it shows up in the embelishments and sometimes it shows up in the drape.
But when the saree is designed with ethnic motif in mind, it is a different ball game. You want to import just enough to give it traditional overtone – too little, and it looks like a mish-mash, too much and lit looks like a hotch-potch.
