I like the temporary drape for a fashion foto; looks eye catching.

Not sure if she really knows how to wear a saree and she might just be using a saree as a prop or if this is an attempt to show saree in a different mood.
She is a Nepali model, so perhaps it is a combination of both.
But as I have said before; blouse is only 150 yrs old, saree has been around even before the pyramids were built, so attempt to wear a saree without the blouse doesn’t surprise or bother me.

I have talked about this issue several times. I know that some of the vendors want to get cheap mannequins from where ever they can find them. But this is just ridiculous. see here.
This mannequin reminds me of a skeleton with diseased hands – not the most attractive thing that will induce a person to buy a saree.
And as if it wasn’t bad enough, they put a little red bindi on it! Now it looks even worse!
Compare it to this one; a mannequin used at Macy’s

Now, that’s more like it.
Saree doesn’t stand on it’s own – you have to provide it a proper feminine form to shine.
I am begging all the big retailers; get together and have some molds of beautiful desi mannequins made so you can all benefit and I don’t go in to seizures after looking at these good awful mannequins and stop getting nightmares about them.
We now return you to our regularly scheduled program.
