This is a “dhoop chaaya” silk sari that is woven in purple and crimson thread. The interesting thing about these two tone saris is that they reflect a different hue depending on how the light is hitting the fabric, with parts of the sari glowing purple and others crimson. The blouse picks up the purple color and has a very retro look with 3/4th length sleeves and a high neckline.
I particularly like the accessorization. The bold necklace is shown off against the back drop of the blouse, while the earrings are comparatively delicate. This is smart. When accessorizing, it works well to wear one item of jewelry that is unabashedly overstated, while playing the others down a bit!
