Let’s see now, where should I begin?
I am not going to comment about the overall look, but there are two interesting design elements here.
(i) matching of the polka dots on the saree with the bindi of the same size and color.
Bindi has been matched to the saree for a long time but this is and interesting twist, or should I say, it is an interesting circle.
(ii) The blouse is notable, because it is so out of ordinary.
Now close your eyes, and evoke your sense of colors and color the saree and the blouse with the colors of your choice – how does it look?
The tertiary color of the border is not coming out right and doesn’t provide a bridge to the blouse here, but otherwise, this has a great potential.
Net and bead sari from designer Brisha
An interesting sari from designer Brisha. The sari is a sea green net, with a heavily beaded border. The most unusual part is the wide beaded belt. Not sure why the model has a pink bow in her hair but I am guessing it was left over from another ensemble. It is a good idea to wear generic accessories and jewelry when walking the ramp since there is never enough time to change the accoutrements!
Hema Malini in a black chiffon sari and sexy blouse
We have all admired how Hema Malini’s dress sense has transitioned over the years to a more sophisticated and sleek look. Hema is also known for owning one of the largest collection of saris.
We love the sari blouse Hema is wearing here. The spaghetti strap sequined blouse is offset by the perfect hair style – light and casual. The delicate silver earring suits her to a T.
Great saree, great jewelry
Slightly overdone, but it works! The necklace with a corset blouse and the jewel encrusted silver belt with a silver bordered saree doesn’t look out of place.
sneha in black and orange saree
The saree is pretty standard; think black and gold embroided work, but the reason this picture caught my eye was the blouse design.
Essentially, the front of the blouse is pretty plain but the back of the blouse has a large temple border, which is carried forward on the quarter sleeves. Also note the matching trim on the blouse and minimal neckware jewelry.
