Not a bad combination – not sure if the blouse design goes with this saree style – looks a bit disjointed.

Here is an illustration for 1847; a maroon saree with green blouse and saree matching thin maroon border on the blouse sleeves.
As they say, if you wait long enough, the style you abandoned will come back in fashion!

I am going to take the position that this is not a saree, so I don’t have much to say about it.
This is a “dhoop chaaya” silk sari that is woven in purple and crimson thread. The interesting thing about these two tone saris is that they reflect a different hue depending on how the light is hitting the fabric, with parts of the sari glowing purple and others crimson. The blouse picks up the purple color and has a very retro look with 3/4th length sleeves and a high neckline.
I particularly like the accessorization. The bold necklace is shown off against the back drop of the blouse, while the earrings are comparatively delicate. This is smart. When accessorizing, it works well to wear one item of jewelry that is unabashedly overstated, while playing the others down a bit!
