“The sari is the most flattering garment,” he added, as he touched up her makeup minutes before the cameras started rolling. “It disguises manly shoulders, takes attention away from a masculine neck.”

If the saree works for Rose, it can do wonders for you!

Also want to take this opportunity to reiterate my fullest support for the transgender community everywhere, including Malika, Rose and the Pakistani talk show host. Begum Nawazish Ali.

On the pages of this blog, Rose will find welcoming audience, but only if she wears beautiful sarees!

Shabana Azmi, please take away her license to wear a saree

Wearing a saree is a privilege, not a right. I really feel like starting a petition to take away her license to wear a saree!

There are some rumors that she might become the judge at the Indian Idol IV, I hope she doesn’t.

What happened to the women I loved!

I want this gorgeous, poised woman back!

She has won more awards then one can shake a stick at; have you heard her speak on social issues? she speaks from the heart and she was one of the strongest voices against the religious extremism after 9/11.

She thinks that she is smart and accomplished and that means she can mix and match her own clothes – wrong!

You think I am picking on Shabana, but I am picking on each one of you accomplished and smart women. Stay with your core competency. Find your own sense of design and listen to others and let them tell you what works and what doesn’t.

If you are not sure about your “design sense”, bright colors are not your friends. Wear something that has fewer and subtle colors; rely on a designer that you like (either for clothing or for inspirations) or rely on a set of shades that work for you.
