I am not so sure about this one. I know zipper technology has advanced a lot from the days of metal teeth, and I know one can get very smooth movements with zipper but I am not convinced that it is ready for a saree yet. I just don’t think the fluidity of fabric is there yet.
I have experimented with Velcro to change pallus but it has double the problems; the seam doesn’t come out even and it loses it fluidity.
There is room for improvement and innovation here, but zippers is not an answer.
By the way, I am not opposed to a zippered saree with Goth or Punk look; I expect Puneet Nanda of Satya Paul will show it sooner rather than later, and I can’t wait to see it.
